I will fight to:

• End exclusionary zoning statewide, legalizing mid-size apartment buildings in all residential neighborhoods
• Lift wasteful parking mandates that encourage sprawl and make new homes more expensive
• Build more affordable housing by limiting towns’ discretionary decision-making. If a project features 25% or more affordable units, it should be able to appeal to the state for approvals.
• Enable single-stair apartments so we can build homes that are more efficient, more affordable, safer, and more beautiful.
• Make sure affordable housing requirements are funded by cities, towns, or the state.

Massachusetts has fallen behind our neighbors in New England, and progressive states nationwide, on housing policy. It’s time for Beacon Hill to stop talking about the housing crisis and take the steps proven to actually solve the problem.

My wife’s grandmother got lifesaving care from home health aides, paid for by MassHealth. But the burdensome process to apply, re-verify eligibility, and then do it again every time we went to the hospital took away from the quality time we could spend together before her passing.

From my experience working in the U.S. government, I saw that it’s not like this in other states. Here’s how we fix it:

• Streamline applications for public benefits like SNAP and MassHealth
• Public service over profit: hire and support public servants, building in-house state capacity instead of outsourcing to consultants and big corporations
• Require agencies to collect and report on customer experience metrics
• Strengthen transparency in state government contracting

• Ban ICE agents who violate our rights from turning around and working as police officers, teachers, or coaches
• Prohibit companies who profit off of ICE’s illegal acts from winning state government contracts
• Fund research grants for grad students and early career scientists
• Stand with university staff, grad student workers, and their unions in contract negotiations with Harvard and MIT

And as technology reshapes our lives, we need legislators who understand emerging technology beyond talking points. A computer can’t be held accountable, so no computer should make decisions that require human judgment.

• Pass dedicated funding for transit, such as congestion pricing or a Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) tax
• Build in-house design and construction capacity at MassDOT, including the Grand Junction Path, grounding McGrath Highway, and reconstructing the Mass Pike in Allston at-grade
• Hire more bus and train operators and dispatchers to run more frequent service
• Plan and build an intercity bike trail network so you can cycle safely between any two towns inside 128

• Expand access to public transit, running more frequent buses and trains
• Build more clean energy: solar, offshore wind, battery storage, and transmission lines
• Build hundreds of thousands of new homes near public transit. New buildings are vastly more energy-efficient than old buildings
• Prohibit the expansion of fossil fuel infrastructure

At 30 years old, I’ll be one of the youngest state legislators in Massachusetts. I’m running so that my children can lead beautiful lives well into the 22nd century.

I support a single-payer health care system. I will also prioritize making it easier for residents to access MassHealth, by simplifying the application and verification process.

• Simplify MassHealth applications and verification
• Hire providers and build capacity to address ER wait times and primary care wait times
• Pay PCPs more, increasing reimbursements and student loan assistance
• Stand firm in defense of reproductive rights

I will also stand firm in defense of reproductive rights. Massachusetts must protect what Texas and other states are trying to take away.
